Zhangjiagang Institute of Compound Semiconductors (ZICS) is jointly established by the People's Government of Zhangjiagang City, Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone (ZETDZ). It is located in the Nanotechnology Industrial Park of ZETDZ. The institute includes an advanced epitaxial platform and a testing platform for compound semiconductors. Both platforms focus on compound semiconductors represented by GaAs and InP and their process research, development of related applications, transformation of achievements, technical consultation, training, and services.

 Based on Zhangjiagang City's industrial deployment and market demand, ZICS focuses on new energy, optical communications, sensors and other applications to carry out epitaxial material research and development, epitaxial technology services and public testing services. The goal of the institute is to build a high-level public R&D and service platform for compound semiconductors in Jiangsu Province and even the Yangtze River Delta region, and to become a first-class research institution with well-known influence in the field of domestic compound semiconductors.
